I have been taking photos since I was a teenager.  I had my own black and white darkroom back in 1968.  I always enjoyed taking B&W white photos, usually on Tri-x film rated at 400 ASA.  The photos had a grainy gritty kind of look that I liked, but truthfully, I was a pretty mediocre photographer. Two things changed that for me. One was that with digital photography I was finally able to get my vision to match my photographs. The other was practicing by making prints. Over the years I have belonged to a number of camera clubs, but  my favorite has always been  the  Greater San Antonio Camera Club  (GSACC).  Entering and competing in their monthly print and digital competitions has helped make me the photographer that I am today.
I have won a few photography awards including from the:
2nd Place Fredericksburg Art Guild
PhotoSA Camera Club at the Dominion in San Antonio
1st Place from Gathering of Photographers, Betz Gallery in Houston
GSACC (Greater San Antonio Camera Club). where I was also chosen multiple years as Photographer of the Year.
Also I have sold some of my art work at various art shows in Texas.
